Civil Development


Al-Mortaqa is interested in disseminating the concepts and principles of civil society through activating its institutions and motivating them to play their cultural, monitoring and facilitating role to encourage public voluntary work and community initiatives. Our programs are intended to promote the concepts of democracy, justice, freedom and equality Al-Mortaqa champions activities in the areas of planning, implementing and participation notably in awareness campaigns or advocacy campaigns for civil society. It has undertaken a range of programs focused on reducing the effects of conflict and realizing social and civil reconciliation initiatives

A team of Al-Mortaqa Foundation for Development has completed its work on the cash-for-work project, funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Sharqat, Salah ad Din province. 







800 residents and the IDPs benefited from the project services and 40 government buildings rehabilitated as well.ALMORTAQA509




















The rehabilitated buildings have entered the work and provided services to the people of the destrict, especially for 23,000 students enrolled in 38 schools were rehabilitated during the project.ALMORTAQA555

Almortaqa Foundation for Development began work on a project for processing water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in the IDPs camp in Haj Ali.



















The project will cover the needs of 400 displaced families (2,400 individuals) of the expected arrival to the camp later.

 Almortaqa Legal Clinics team organized two legal awareness workshops in Baghdad with the participation of 70 female IDPs from the provinces of Anbar and Salahuddin.



















These activities falls within legal clinics network program implemented by the Almortaqa and funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees UNHCR

A team from Al-Mortaqa Foundation for Development started work on the project (cash for work) in the district of Sharqat in Salah ad Din governorate.
The project seeks to provide 800 job opportunities for the host community and IDPs and it is funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
For four months project's activities include the rehabilitation of 38 school buildings as well as two government buildings.

Almortaqa Began an agricultural field surveys in 16 disrict distributed in six Iraqi provinces.
The surveys aimed to assess the status of agriculture, livestock and fisheries as well as market research and ways of living in the provinces of Nineveh, Salahuddin and Anbar, Diyala, Babil and Wasit.





















Almortaqa implements this project in cooperation with iMMAP and the support of FAO
